Let the games begin!

Students have completed and are continuing to work on the following: Ghost-out activity, traffic statistics, two guest speakers; one was an impact speaker, the other is the DARE program coordinator from the county sherrif's department. Students have given mini skits to the high school to prompt discussion prior to the speakers.

They attended a training in Minneapolis for the FACTS program and were interviewed by WCCO "Good Question" segment that aired in November. In the upcoming months, they are planning a Mock Crash for April involving our high school students and over six different emeregy response agencies in our community. To help raise funds for these activities, they planned and hosted a Fall-themed dance, "haunted hallway" and children's carnival in our school in October that raised over $750.00.

They are also mentoring a younger group of freshmen students that are planning a poster contest to reduce drinkiing alcohol and driving in cooperation with our local insurance agencies and local liquor sales by having the posters displayed in the liquor stores. This group also completed a seat belt check and survey in October as a part of Red Ribbon Week and handed out pretzel bags with seat belt statistics stating "don't get twisted, wear your seatbelt" on each bag.
